The Bottom Line
For most Texas solar homes, Meter is the better choice. Meter offers two solar buyback plans: a low-rate plan starting at 11.4¢/kWh and an 8¢ guaranteed solar credit plan with no caps or expiration with a 60 days risk-free trial. Direct Energy uses fixed export rates up to 5.6¢/kWh with no trial period. Meter provides personal support from real people, while Direct Energy uses a call center.
