Terms of Service for the Texas Electricity Plans ChatGPT Connector

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Note: These terms apply only to the Texas Electricity Plans connector when used inside ChatGPT. For our website and retail energy brokerage services, please see our main Privacy Policy.

Meter Energy Inc. (“Meter Energy,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides the Texas Electricity Plans connector (the “Connector”) as an informational tool to help users compare electricity plans available in Texas. By using this Connector inside ChatGPT, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Connector, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Connector.

2. Description of Service

The Connector is an informational comparison tool that:

  • Displays Texas electricity plan data sourced from public regulatory data and our retail catalog
  • Lets you filter and compare plans by ZIP code, monthly usage (kWh), contract length, renewable percentage, and retailer
  • Provides links to retailer websites where you can enroll in plans directly

Important: The Connector is for informational purposes only. Meter Energy does not process electricity enrollments through the Connector. All sign-up links direct you to third-party retailer websites (such as TXU, Reliant, Green Mountain Energy, Octopus Energy, and others) where you complete enrollment directly with the retailer.

3. No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate information:

  • Plan prices, terms, and availability change frequently and may not reflect the most current offerings
  • Estimated monthly costs are based on the usage amount you provide and may differ from your actual bills
  • You should always verify plan details, pricing, and terms directly on the retailer's Electricity Facts Label (EFL) and the retailer's website before enrolling

4. Third-Party Links and Services

The Connector contains links to third-party retailer websites. When you click a sign-up link:

  • You will be directed to the retailer's website, which is governed by their own terms and privacy policies
  • Any agreement you enter into is between you and the retailer — Meter Energy is not a party to that agreement
  • Meter Energy is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party websites

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meter Energy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Connector, including but not limited to decisions made based on plan information displayed, enrollment with any retailer, or any issues with electricity service.

The Connector is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

6. Appropriate Use

You agree to use the Connector only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Connector for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Connector's operation
  • Use automated systems to access the Connector in a manner that exceeds reasonable use

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Connector after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.
